Joshua Cook Executive Chef

Josh Cook has been working in the restaurant industry since the age of 14. He started out as a busboy and food runner. While admiring everything going on in the kitchen he soon moved to the back of the house. By the age of 19 he was promoted to his first Sous Chef position with Bravo. Over the next 10 years he worked in some of the best kitchens in Columbus. He was given his first Executive Chef position at the age of 28 at Barrio Spanish Tapas. While working for Taste Hospitality Group for seven years he over saw several different operations from restaurants, golf clubs, events and caterings. He has successfully executed over 250 weddings. In May of 2017 he took on a new role as General Manager for Asterisk Supper Club. This was his first opportunity to manage not only the back of the house but the dinning room as well.
Over the last year, Josh took on the challenge to learn as much about ramen as possible. With his natural talents and finesse, he takes normal ramen to the next level, bringing his culinary love to the ramen world. Josh has an amazing son who attends The Ohio State University.

Bismark Akomeah Beverage Director

Growing up Bismark would watch his mother cook amazing meals for his family, that love for restaurants and amazing food led him to Asterisk. Bismark has been a part of the Asterisk family since the beginning. Originally starting as a dishwasher and barback and making his way through every position in the business. He found his niche in curating and crafting cocktails as a bartender.  He nurtured that love and skill and has helped to develop the Asterisk bar program.

After graduating from The Ohio State University, with a degree in Political Science and Terrorism, he took over the role of Beverage Director for Ampersand. Bismark has been in restaurant industry for a brief while, however his love grows day by day. You can find him behind the bar, in the kitchen, or talking to guests. His goal is to eventually own and operate his own restaurant in the future.

Megan Ada Owner

This is Megan's third restaurant to open. Sunny Street Cafe in Westerville (9 years) and Asterisk Supper Club in Uptown Westerville (3 years) and now taking on the Short North with Ampersand Asian Supper Club. Megan's dad is from Guam which has a large influence of the Japanese culture. She grew up eating ramen and the Japanese cuisine. Now having the opportunity to serve Japanese food has been a dream she never thought would be possible. With the help of talented Chef Joshua Cook, it has become real.  Learning from her strong parents to work extremely hard and never make excuses, she does not cut corners and believes in only quality product, service and of course, unique experiences and ambiance. She's shy at heart but loves getting to meet all the kindhearted guests that support her continuously. Megan wouldn't have been able to accomplish any of these dreams without the hard work from her talented team, supportive family and God. Megan is blessed to have a beautiful daughter, Ada.
